Three Days til Launch! Teaser: The Luxxor Family
6 months ago – Sat, Nov 01, 2025 at 12:05:57 PM

Let's take a look at one of the prominent noble families from the desert nation of Nalathesh!

The Luxxor family have been prominent nobles in Nalathesh for generations. They control a small but prosperous stretch of real estate in Nalathesh’s capital, Aridala, but are best known as the leaders of a prominent international trade caravan.

As the adventuring party interacts with the Luxxors, the family may become valuable allies and quest-givers, or they could become dangerous antagonists. To outsiders, the Luxxors present a formidable united force, but like any family, they have their share of internal tensions and secrets. A savvy party that uncovers these secrets may be able to leverage the Luxxors' resources.

Mattias is the head of the Luxxor family's domestic business interests. He manages his family’s estate, tends to business in the capital, and ensures that traders and merchants who work with or for his family are well provided for. Mattias and Puri Luxxor have three children: Lucius, Marcus, and Reshi.

While Mattias tends to family affairs in the capital, his sister Adelaide oversees the family's traveling caravans. Adelaide and her husband Reza and often personally oversee these caravans and travel internationally with them. Adelaide is generous with both her time and resources, but she is also pragmatic. If she finds that someone exploited her family’s resources, she responds with the full force of the Nalatheshi legal system.

Mattias's mother Erdelan is still very keen in her old age, and Mattias and Adelaide often seek their mother’s sage advice. She acts as a matriarch to the family, and hopes to live long enough to see her grandchildren take an active interest in the family business.

Four Days til Launch! Teaser: Welcome to Bridgemoor
6 months ago – Fri, Oct 31, 2025 at 08:52:14 AM

Welcome to Bridgemoor! The entire city-state is a massive bridge that spans the Great Chasm, connecting to Nalathesh in the west and Kendaria in the east. Whether you're only passing through or plan to stay a while, you can be sure that Bridgemoor's markets, libraries, inns, and taverns hold whatever you seek!

From the zenith of the bridge, the Meritocrats rule the city-state with wisdom and wit. An assembly of 248 legislators, the meritocrats write all of the laws for Bridgemoor. Many of them are alumni of Bridgemoor's Univeristy, aptly named the Meritocratium. Other Meritocrats are simply hardworking pencil pushers that work their way into the good graces of sitting meritocrats and eventually inherit the position.

While the Meritocrats pass laws, the Bridge Knights keep the peace. The Bridge Knights are often said to strike quite heroic figures in their gleaming plate armor and blue-and-black tunics. But not everyone holds them in high regard. Many merchants feel that the Bridge Knights watch the streets so closely that they stifle efforts at haggling with customers and other merchants, but of course the Bridge Knights say that their close watch is necessary. After all, Bridgemoor holds a precarious position spanning the Great Chasm, and if traveling merchants cannot trust that they will be treated fairly in the city, then how will Bridgemoor continue to prosper?
The lifeblood of Bridgemoor is, of course, composed of the sizeable population of merchants and tradesfolk. Given Bridgemoor's vital strategic location as the only convenient way across the Great Chasm, scores of international traders make Bridgemoor a central part of their trade routes. The merchants, tradesfolk, artisans, and servicefolk of Bridgemoor are quite prosperous as a result.

Several religious orders have notable presences in Bridgemoor. Whether visiting the Order of the Darkscourge, the Temple of Vigil, or the temple of another pantheon, the places of worship in Bridgemoor accommodate large gatherings and will often help adventurers who request aid.

Lately, it seems that everyone has been a bit on edge as rumors of a dark new cult swirl through the city. The clergy worry that the cult might be targeting them. The merchants and meritocrats fear that the unease around the cult may drive traders to avoid Bridgemoor... even if there is no other easy way across the Great Chasm. And of course, the Bridge Knights want to put an end to any crime in the city, especially violent occult rituals.

Five Days til Launch! Teaser: A Tour of Kendaria
6 months ago – Thu, Oct 30, 2025 at 09:36:20 AM

Today I want to share some sneak peeks into the nation of Kendaria! If you missed the sneak peeks of Nalathesh, you can see them here.

What's worse than vampires? MUSHROOM VAMPIRES. Redleaf Dale needs your help! It’s been overrun with spores and the whole town might turn into creatures of darkness if you don’t intervene. Can you save the uninfected citizens, from the clutches of the spore vampires, or will you just burn it all down?

Grace Grove is home to Amelia Grace, the self-styled Queen of the Old Forest. A child of only eight years, Queen Amelia Grace enjoys broad popular support throughout the towns of the Old Forest despite her inexperience and her lack of legitimate claim to royalty. Chief among her supporters are the Merry Foresters, a rough-and-tumble mercenary group that gives teeth to Amelia's burgeoning monarchy.

Nobody knows how this city got its name. Once a very small town, some claim that there was a tree of silver around which the town was built. Whether the tree was literally silver, or figuratively sparkled with silvery light, is debated.

Others declare that it is simply a practical name. Silverbranch is a hub between two nations and several large towns, with roads branching out in all directions and silver flowing freely.

As the largest city on the national border between Kendaria and its neighbor Nevna to the south, Silverbranch thrives as a trade hub. Given its position as a trade crossroads, there are also ample black market dealings in the city's seedier districts.

While some in Grace Grove would disagree, Dalewright is officially the capital of Kendaria and is the seat of power for Queen Astaria Gillian III. A prominent port city on the continent's east coast, Dalewright thrives off of maritime trade. The University of Augustan also draws a great number of curious academic minds. Enroll in classes or spend your afternoon strolling the Fane Gardens or haggling in Sheryn's Quay!

Six Days til Launch! Teaser: Deserts of Nalathesh

Lead Game Designer Nathan here to share some sneak peaks into the campaign! As we count down the days until The Cloven Lands launches, I want to know what regions you're most excited about exploring. What quests are you most looking forward to? What's your highest priority as an adventurer in this world?

Today, let's take a closer look at the desert nation of Nalathesh!

Have you ever wanted to explore a deadly cave made of flesh? No? Well, TOO BAD! If you want to stay in the good graces of powerful noble Hyleth Othen, you’ll need to buckle up and go spelunking. Brace yourself against DIRE VULTURES, FLESHLINGS, and ROT BEES as you look for missing researchers in the FLESH PITS OF NALATHESH.

Overlooking the Flesh Pits from its vantage point of relative safety, the Vulture Watchtower offers overnight lodging for travelers navigating the arid, rocky desert. Curious travelers might even poke around in the Vulture Watchtower’s restricted areas and find out what the researchers are really here for…

A week's travel to the east, the tiny town of Lonerock is easy to overlook, but Sheriff-Mayor Cyrus Drake knows how to have an outsized impact. Given his town’s proximity to Bridgemoor and its picturesque view of the Great Chasm, Drake has turned Lonerock into a popular overnight destination for travelers of all stripes.

The capital of Nalathesh is Aridala. The sparkling desert jewel of a city draws merchants, nobles, and theatre troupes from the world over! Lurk in the seedy alleyways to make black market deals or plot hushed conspiracies. Or march straight into the Godking’s Palace and demand an audience with the Godking himself! Head to the markets to enjoy all of the city’s delicious cuisine, then go to the Windswept Circus or Sunrise Theater to witness the latest play.
